Every item you drag onto the canvas is a Smart Object. Unlike a standard drawing tool where a valve is just a shape, in Velnode:

  • Physics-Aware: A pump knows its head-flow curve; a tank understands its volume and hydrostatic pressure; a valve calculates its Cv (flow coefficient) in real-time.
  • Dynamic States: Components aren’t just "on" or "off." You can visualize a valve at 34% open and see the immediate downstream pressure drop on a digital gauge.
  • Custom Parameterization: You can click on any component to edit its technical specs—changing a pipe’s diameter or a pump’s RPM—to see how those variables affect the entire system.

2. Sophisticated Simulation Complexity

The Builder is designed to handle everything from fundamental fluid mechanics to advanced industrial processing:

  • Basic Control Loops: Easily configure a Level Control Loop where a sensor talks to a controller to modulate a discharge valve.
  • Integrated Separation Trains: Build complex, multi-phase systems. Simulate the separation of oil, gas, and water in a 3-phase vessel, managing the interface levels and gas back-pressure simultaneously.
  • Discrete & Continuous Events: Whether you are modeling the steady flow of liquid or the "stop-start" logic of a bottling line, the canvas handles both simulation paradigms seamlessly.

This is where the Process Builder separates itself from a mere educational game. It acts as a middleware for automation:

  • PLC Integration: You can map the "virtual" terminals of your canvas components to real-world PLC registers (like a Siemens S7-1200).
  • OPC-UA & Modbus Ready: The logic you build on the screen can be driven by—or drive—external hardware, making it a perfect environment for testing industrial code before deployment.
